Historic Pine Community Center

Pine Grove dedicated its Community Center when PECIA bought the Church Building at the corner of 7th & Main (Pine Valley Rd.) from The Church of Christ in August 1949. The building has been an excellent place to have regular meetings, dances, fund raisers, and other community functions. In 1974 when the North Fork Volunteer Fire Department was in need of land for a firehouse, PECIA considered donating the Community Center property for such purpose, but rejected the idea. The building is located at 16624 Pine Valley Road.

The Pine Community Center was identified and designated by the Jefferson County Historical Commission as a Jefferson County Landmark in 2004. PECIA undertook a major renovation of the Community Center in 2010. The organization used fundraising revenues and a State Historic Fund grant to restored the building, adding a modern foundation, upgraded electrical and lighting, as well as bracing the overall structure to prevent leaning.
